Commercial Floristry Certificate Course
Floral Designs will begin with hand-bunching bouquets, posies, modern grouped and vase designs, you will learn to wrap each bouquet in many different styles, using a variety of types of wraps and ribbons. Mostly quality fresh cut flowers and Natives will be used in these classes. You will complete up to 40 Designs during this Course, all of which you will take home after your last class for each week. You will learn gift boxes, ceramic and glass boxes, shop designs of many types, including table design for round, rectangular and coffee/console tables, also reception desk corporate style designs. Popular circular Crowns and also corsage, buttonholes and hair sprays for all occasions. Candle and float bowls for evening tables and romantic dinners. Every day will be a new world of excitement and self expression.
Course: Available to students who are beginners and had no real floristry training.
Recommended for: All students who have always had a passion for flowers and the art of designing arrangements either for fun or to perhaps find work in a shop or to run their own business. This Course will give you confidence and the ability and skills to be assertive when going for a Florist position.

Commercial Floristry Certificate Course
Our Intensive Floristry Course Certificate includes Beginners, Intermediate to Advanced level and you will learn a wide variety of designs, in fact (up to 40 designs) will be completed in class – for work in a Shop, i.e. arrangements, bouquets, open sprays and vase work; including table, gift, hospital gifts and office/reception desk design; we also touch on each of the following subjects: Corporate Designs, Wedding Tables, Church Designs, Events, etc. all being subjects included in the 2nd year Advanced Courses or the Wedding Specialist Course. During Beginners and Intermediate terms, students learn the spiral-technique of hand bunching, cross-stem and spiral vase design, modern arrangements, posies, open sprays, commercial designs for all occasions in various, unusual and modern containers and also gift-wrapping flower bouquets/posies. Half way through the Course you will learn stylish table designs, gift baskets, creative ceramic ideas and impressive Corporate designs will be arranged during these important terms. This course is also ideal for for those who need to gain more confidence or gain speed in their flower arranging and also for florists to update their designs and skills, by learning the most modern and latest ideas in this ever-changing world of flowers. All your designs taken home after class will be of professional standard and ready for sale or a gift.
Course Overview
Become a Florist by enrolling in our intensive, practical, hands-on Florist training, non-stop flower arranging. Our modern, simplified teaching techniques will give you a solid and clear background on design; construction; proportion and scale; balance; rhythm of movement; line; colour co-ordination; flower knowledge and confidence in handling of flowers; resulting in skills, self-confidence and professional expertise. This is a Commercial Certificate Course.
All Inclusive
Our Intensive Course price includes all flowers, foliage, vases, containers and all florist sundries and is a Commercial Floristry Certificate Course. To enroll you pay half cost and final balance one month before commencement. Please book as early as possible to ensure you have reserved the days/dates you prefer for your Course. Accommodation is free for those who live more than 70 kms away, however, we are lenient in most cases.
Our classes are personal one-to-one, “hands-on” training, we guarantee you will have the same teacher for your entire Course in a class of 3 max. students.

Accommodation is at additional charge at The Retreat, Wisemans Ferry. You can book direct through the hotel yourself or on our website.
- We accept payment by Direct Deposit, or Cash to enrol.
- The deposit is half your Course cost and payable upon booking your Course. It is not refundable due to our small classes. Final payment must be made 1 month prior to commencement date. Receipts will be sent to you once payment is viewed in our bank account.
- Should you injure yourself while attending classes at the Academy of Floral Art, we do not accept responsibility for any injury or damages to personal property. Please Note: Always make sure you can see all your fingers before cutting stems or anything, never glance up while cutting.
- Should you become sick with perhaps, covid, or other illness, please advise us immediately. Flowers must be cancelled within 24 hours prior to your absence and must be paid for again upon your return.
- Flowers may be taken home at the end of each day or at the end of each week. Please bring a couple of shallow boxes and towels to keep your car seats dry.
- Should you wish to attend your course/workshop with a friend or relative please let us know to ensure you are placed in the same class.
- Please bring an A4 notebook with lines, a pen and pencil/rubber; hand towel, hand sanitiser is provided here, camera or iPad/iPhone to take photos of each design. Always make sure your background is blank,(no clutter); take more photos at home once the flowers open/bloom.
- Certificates will be issued on the last day of your Course.
